World's War Events is a 3-volume history of World War I, assembled in 1919 from articles contributed by "statesmen, commanders, historians, and men who fought or saw the great campaigns". Volume 1 begins with articles about the causes of the war, describing the European political setting, the diplomatic maneuvering before and after the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand, and the military strategies that led Germany to take aggressive action. Following this are articles about campaigns including the Marne and Gallipoli, action at sea, the sinking of the Lusitania, and the early air war. - Summary by Ted Lienhart
